Game #6: Dallas Mavericks 105, Miami Heat 95

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 13 June 2011 at 1:48 pm

The Heat didn’t play any D as the Mavericks shot 50% from the floor and it killed them in the end.  LeBron James led the way for the Heat last night with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  James shot 9 of 15 from the floor but he turned the ball over six times.  Chris Bosh stepped up as he had a solid game with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 1 steal.  Mario Chalmers (18 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals) and Dwyane Wade (17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots also had solid games last night.  Udonis Haslem pitched in with 11 points and 9 rebounds in 34 minutes on the floor.  The Heat’s season ended with a thud on their own court as the Mavericks beat them 4 games to 2 in the NBA Finals.

Joel Anthony did nothing in the NBA Finals for the Miami Heat

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 13 June 2011 at 1:44 pm

28-year old center Joel Anthony was awful in the NBA Finals.  He played in 6 games (all starts) for the Heat in the NBA Finals and he averaged 20.5 minutes, 1.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 1.2 blocked shots per game.  He only shot 4 of 14 from the floor (28.6%) and he didn’t get to the free throw line even once!  He played in 21 games (13 starts) for the Heat in the playoffs and he averaged 27.4 minutes, 2.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.8 blocked shots per game.  Starting Anthony turned into a fatal flaw for the Heat as they needed size to deal with Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler inside.

Mario Chalmers stepped up in the NBA Finals for the Miami Heat

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 13 June 2011 at 1:39 pm

25-year old point guard Mario Chalmers did his part for the Heat  in the NBA Finals.  Chalmers played in 6 games (1 start) for the Heat in the NBA Finals and he averaged 28.8 minutes, 11.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.  He shot 14 of 35 (40%) from three point range in the NBA Finals.  Chalmers played in 21 games (1 start) in the playoffs for the Heat and he averaged 24.3 minutes, 7.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

Chris Bosh needed to do more for the Miami Heat

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 13 June 2011 at 1:36 pm

The Heat needed 27-year old power forward Chris Bosh to be the tough guy he was in Toronto, but it just never happened.  He played in 6 games (all starts) for the Heat in the NBA Finals and he averaged 39.3 minutes, 18.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.  Bosh played in 21 games (all starts) in the playoffs and he averaged 39.7 minutes, 18.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.  I would not be shocked to see Bosh get traded before next season starts as he was pretty soft this year for the Heat.

LeBron James didn’t come through in the clutch in the NBA Finals for the Miami Heat

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 13 June 2011 at 1:32 pm

26-year old small forward LeBron James played really well in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but in the NBA Finals, he just didn’t seem to be his old self.  James played in 6 games (all starts) for the Heat in the NBA Finals and he averaged 43.7 minutes, 17.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game.  James played in 21 games (all starts) in the playoffs for the Heat and he averaged 43.9 minutes, 23.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game.  The way that LeBron James pretty much ran to the locker room when the last second went off the clock last night showed an utter lack of class, which he has brought with him to Miami from Cleveland.  He needs to grow up and take responsibility when he fails instead of pointing fingers at others, or he’s never going to win a ring.

Can’t blame D-Wade for the Miami Heat’s failure to win the title

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 13 June 2011 at 1:26 pm

29-year old shooting guard Dwyane Wade got injured (hip) in Game #5 and he didn’t look like his old self in Game #6, but you can’t blame him for the Heat’s failure to win a NBA Title.  Wade played in 6 games (all starts) in the NBA Finals and he averaged 38.8 minutes, 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots per game.  Wade shot 54.6% from the floor but only 69.4% from the free throw line in the NBA Finals.  Wade played in 21 games (all starts) for the Heat in the playoffs and he averaged 39.4 minutes, 24.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocked shots per game.  D-Wade did his part.

Game #5: Dallas Mavericks 112, Miami Heat 103

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Friday 10 June 2011 at 1:29 pm

The Heat didn’t play ANY D last night as the Mavericks shot 56.5% from the floor and an amazing 68.4% from three point range (13 of 19) and it did the Heat in.  Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat last night with 23 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot despite missing quite a bit of time with a hip contusion.  Chris Bosh stepped up and had a good game with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot.  LeBron James had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and he blocked a shot.  But, James was 8 for 19 shooting from the floor with 4 turnovers and 2 lousy points in the 4th quarter as he disappeared once again when the Heat needed him to step up.  Mario Chalmers (15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 23 minutes) and Udonis Haslem (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot in 33 minutes) played hard and well off the bench for the Heat last night.  The Heat are now down 3-2 to the Mavericks with the last two games in Miami.

What’s up with LeBron James?

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Wednesday 8 June 2011 at 7:55 pm

26-year old small forward “King James” is supposedly the best player on the planet Earth right now, but he’s not.  If he was, he would have more than 9 combined points in the 4th quarter in the first four games of the NBA Finals.  He had zero last night.  Last night’s game, when he scored only 8 points, was the first game since January 5th, 2007 in which he failed to score in double figures.  To me, he looks intimidated and very scared to take any shots in the 4th quarter.  He has played in 4 games in the NBA Finals so far this year and he is averaging 44.0 minutes, 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.  Overall though, his playoff numbers still look impressive.  James has played in 19 games overall this year in the playoffs and he is averaging 44.0 minutes, 24.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.6 asssits, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game.  If LeBron truly wants to be known as a King (and not a Prince), he needs to step up in the last two or three games this year.

Game #4: Dallas Mavericks 86, Miami Heat 83

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Wednesday 8 June 2011 at 7:49 pm

The Dallas Mavericks wanted this game more than the Heat did as they outscored them 21-14 in the 4th quarter.  Dwyane Wade had another incredible game for the Heat with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Chris Bosh also had a decent game with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shots.  But, the third triplet had another night to forget.  LeBron James finished with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals last night.  He shot 3 of 11 from the floor, 2 for 4 from the free throw  line and he had 4 turnovers.  He played lousy and it’s hard or the Heat to win when he plays like that as he looked intimidated.  The Heat are now tied back up at two games apiece in this series.

Game #3: Miami Heat 88, Dallas Mavericks 86

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General,The NBA Playoffs by admin on Monday 6 June 2011 at 2:25 pm

Last night the Heat decided to finish off the game instead of celebrating too early.  Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat last night with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Chris Bosh didn’t play especially well last night but he did hit the eventual game winning shot.  Bosh finished up with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist on 7 of 18 shooting from the floor.  LeBron James had a so-so game with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals.  Mario Chalmers pitched in with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 29 minutes off the bench.  The Heat are now up 2-1 in this series.
