The Heat really turned it on in the second half of the game last night outscoring the Wizards 49-27! Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat last night with 41 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Michael Beasley pitched in for the Heat with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Mario Chalmers did a decent job of running the show with 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. The Heat are now 6-1 on the season.

Miami Heat 96, Denver Nuggets 88

The Miami Heat took it to the Nuggets last night as they led this game 78-56 after the first three quarters. The Heat also outrebounded the Nuggets 41-34 last night which was a big reason for the win. Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals lasst night. Jermaine O’Neal was also solid with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Mario Chalmers ran the offense pretty well for the Heat last night as he scored 16 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. The Heat are now 5-1 on the year.

Miami Heat 93, Washington Wizards 89

The Heat really played well on defense holding the Wizards to 37.8% shooting last night and that was the key to victory. Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat last night (as usual) with 40 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocked shots. Quentin Richardson had another solid game for the Heat finishing with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Richardson was also 5 of 7 shooting from three point range last night for the Heat. Udonis Haslem had another very solid game off the bench last night with 13 points and 7 rebounds. The Miami Heat are now 4-1 on the season.

Phoenix Suns 104, Miami Heat 96

The Suns outscored the Heat 29-15 in the 4th quarter last night and it did the Heat in at home. The Suns also shot 50.6% from the floor last night and that didn’t help the cause of the Heat. Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat in this game with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Quentin Richardson had his best game for the Heat so far with 18 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Jermaine O’Neal only played 29 minutes and he contributed 14 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. The Heat are now 3-1 on the season.

Udonis Haslem is bringing muscle and defense off the bench for the Miami Heat

Udonis Haslem seems to be enjoying his new role of coming off the bench. He plays all out all of the time so a bench role seems to suit him fine. Haslem has played in 3 games (0 starts) this season for the Heat and he is averaging 31.3 minutes, 12.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. The Heat need Haslem to keep up the good work as he brings great energy off the bench and it rubs off on his teammates.

Jermaine O’Neal of the Miami Heat has a broken nose

Starting center Jermaine O’Neal suffered a broken nose against the Bulls but he will continue to play. That is a good thing for the Heat as O’Neal has been outstanding this season. O’Neal has started all three games for the Heat this season and he is averaging 30.0 minutes, 17.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. The Heat need O’Neal to play in as many games as possible this season because he is the best interior offensive and defensive player on the Heat’s roster.

Miami Heat 95, Chicago Bulls 87

The Heat had a battle on their hands last night and they had to outscore the Bulls 26-17 in the 4th quarter to finish them off for good. Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat as usual with 25 points and 3 assists. Udonis Haslem had a monster game around the basket for the Heat finishing with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Carlos Arroyo was very solid off the bench finishing with 12 points and 2 assists in only 16 minutes. The Heat are off to a 3-0 start to the 2009-2010 NBA season.
