26-year old SG/SF Yakhouba Diawara has exercised his player option for the 2009-2010 season at just a tad below $1 million bucks. The 6’7″, 230 pound Diawara played in 63 games (21 starts) in his first season with the Heat and he averaged 13.5 minutes, 3.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. The Heat will be better off if Diawara is nothing more than a bench player in 2009-2010. He thinks he is a good shooter but he’s not and the numbers back that up. Diawara has now played in 181 games (54 starts) in his 3-year NBA career and he has averaged 14.2 minutes, 3.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.
