The Heat failed to show up for the game last night against the Raptors. Marcus Banks led the way for the Heat with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in only 29 minutes. Dwyane Wade pitched in with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Ricky Davis had a decent game off the bench as he finished with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. The Heat are now 11-47 on the season.

Dorell Wright is out for the season for the Miami Heat

Dorell Wright will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his left knee. That’s really a shame because Wright was finally starting to live up to his potential. He played in 43 games (33 starts) this season for the Heat and he averaged 25.2 minutes, 7.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He shot 48.6% from the floor and 82.1% from the free throw line. Ricky Davis will likely pick the minutes up that Wright used to get. Davis has played in 57 games (24 starts) this season and he is averaging 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

Sacramento Kings 120, Miami Heat 109

This was a game of two halves as the Heat were very sharp in the 1st half as they were leading 69-49 going into the locker room. But, the Kings smoked them 71-40 in the 2nd half to surge to victory. Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat with 26 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists. Shawn Marion also had a solid game with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Jason Williams did a solid job of running the offense as he finished with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The Heat are now 11-46 on the season.

The Miami Heat’s season is lost so why not let the kids play and see what they have? Part of the reason is that Pat Riley wants to win every game he can as this team was built by him. Daequan Cook is having a decent rookie season. He has played in 38 games (2 starts) this season for the Heat and he is averaging 19.5 minutes, 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He hasn’t shot well however as he is hitting 38.1% of his shots from the floor and 90.2% of his shots from the free throw line. Reserve forward Joel Anthony has played in only 4 games and he’s averaging 7.8 minutes and 0.8 rebounds per game. He has yet to score in the NBA.

The Heat turned it up in the 4th quarter on Friday Night to surge to victory. Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat with 31 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Ricky Davis was only 5 of 15 from the floor and he finished with 15 points and 3 rebounds. Shawn Marion had a solid all-around game as he finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The Heat are now 11-45 on the season.
