The Heat lost their 14th game in a row last night to the Cavs, but you can’t blame Dwyane Wade for that. D-Wade was basically the whole offense for the Heat as he scored 42 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 7 assists and stole the ball 3 times. Shaq was banged up last night and he finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Udonis Haslem brought his hard hat to the area as he scored 9 points, snatched 13 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. The Heat are now 8-33 on the season.

Alonzo Mourning may have to retire from the Miami Heat

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Heat News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Wednesday 16 January 2008 at 8:51 am

Alonzo Mourning will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery to repair a torn patellar tendon in his knee. The injury might force him to retire and that would be a sad way for the warrior to have to leave the game. Mourning played in 24 games this season and he averaged 16.0 minutes, 6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 1.8 blocked shots per game. The Heat will miss Mourning’s leadership and burning desire to win the rest of this season.

Chris Quinn is playing well off the bench for the Miami Heat

With Jason Williams banged up and Smush Parker in the Dog House….Chris Quinn has gotten more playing time than expected and he has responded. Quinn has played in 19 games this season for the Heat and he is averaging 19.7 minutes, 5.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He also has shot the ball pretty well for the Heat as he is hitting 44.8% from the floor and 40% from three point range. With the season spinning out of control for the Heat, look for Quinn to keep getting his share of minutes.
