The depleted Miami Heat never had a chance in this basketball game.  Alonzo Mourning gave a good effort and led the way for the Heat with 15 points and 6 rebounds.  Udonis Haslem hustled all game long and ended up with 7 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Heat get smoked 110-95 by the Clippers in Miami

The Heat never had a chance in this game as the Clippers raced out to a 91-64 lead after 3 quarters.  The Heat also played horrible on defense as the Clippers hit 60.5% of their shots from the floor.  Jason Kapono led the way for the Heat with 19 points.  Alonzo Mourning played hard all game with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  Jason Williams pitched in with 13 points and 5 assists.  Robert Hite added 16 points off the bench.

The Heat fell to 13-18 on the season with this loss.

Pat Riley takes leave of absence from the Heat

Pat Riley is scheduled to have knee surgery on Friday and has taken an indefinate leave of absence to recuperate.  The Heat stand at 13-17 on the season and that probably wore a little on the coach, who’s used to winning.  Ron Rothstein will take over as Head Coach of the Heat until Pat Riley is ready to return.

The Heat take a beating from the Magic, 97-68

The Heat only shot 34.3% from the floor and got outrebounded 46-33 in this game, so the outcome came as no surprise.  Jason Kapano led the way for the Heat with 15 points and he was 4 for 4 on three-point shots.  Dorell Wright had a solid game with 12 points and 5 rebounds, but no one else really showed up for the Heat in this game.

The Heat fell to 13-17 on the season with this loss.

Heat get extinguished by the Nets 91-81

The Heat played this game without Dwyane Wade and they missed him dearly as the Nets outscored the Heat 52-40 in the second half.  Dorell Wright had a great all-around game with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 6 blocked shots.  Jason Williams also played a good game with 17 points and 4 assists.  Alonzo Mourning (12 points, 9 rebounds) and Udonis Haslem (10 points, 6 rebounds) each played well around the basket for the Heat.

The Heat dropped to 13-16 on the season with this loss.
