The Heat rolled to a 66-37 halftime lead and then cruised to victory.  The Heat were scorching from the floor as they shot 60.3% and they outrebounded the Bucks 43-34 and those factors helped lead them to a very easy win.  Dwyane Wade had a great game with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.  Jason Kapano had a good night too with 15 points and 3 rebounds.  James Posey had a solid game off the bench with 13 points and 4 rebounds.  Michael Doleac had his best game of the season with 11 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.

This season has been a mess so far for the Miami Heat.  It started to go south real soon as Shaquille O’Neal went down with a knee injury that required surgery.  He has only played in 6 games this season and the Heat will have a hard time making the playoffs if Shaq doesn’t stay healthy in the second half of the season.  The Heat are sitting at 19-25 on the season which is 7.5 games behind the Wizards in the Southeast Division of the NBA.  But, they are only 2 games behind the Nets for the #8 seed in the playoffs.  Dwyane Wade is doing his best to keep his team in the playoff hunt by averaging 28.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game this season.  But he can’t do it all.  Udonis Haslem has played very well this season for the Heat as he’s averaging 11.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season.  He should be able to keep that up in the second half.  Alonzo Mourning has been great in the middle as he’s averaging 10.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in about 24 minutes per night.  He likely will see a small decrease in playing time with Shaq’s return to action. 

The Heat really need Jason Williams, Antoine Walker, James Posey and Gary Payton to get motivated in the second half or the Heat will be watching the playoffs on TV this summer.  Williams is averaging 10.2 points and 5.1 assists but the Heat need more from him.  Antoine Walker has played much better since the league switched back to the leather ball and they need him to keep that up, because he’s only averaging 8.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and that won’t get it done.  Gary Payton and James Posey have the look of a couple of washed up basketball players.

The Heat had a hard time rebounding as the Bulls outrebounded them 51-42 in this game and that hurt them.  Dwyane Wade had an off night shooting the ball as he only hit 8 of 24 shots from the floor.  He wound up with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.  James Posey hit 5 of 10 three-point shots and wound up with 17 points and 8 rebounds.  Jason Kapano added 16 points.

The Heat played no defense tonight as the Knicks shot 53.6% from the floor as a team and Jamal Crawford dropped 52 points on them!  Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat with 37 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Shaq started but he only played 14 minutes and scored 14 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and blocked 4 shots.

Shaquille O’Neal is back, but it didn’t help last night as the Pacers outrebounded the Heat 52-43 and that really hurt.  Dwyane Wade had a fantastic game with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocked shots.  Jason Kapano added 18 points.  Udonis Haslem also had a good game with 14 points and 15 rebounds.  Shaquille O’Neal only played 19 minutes and scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.

James Posey has not played well lately.  In his last 7 games, Posey has averaged 23.4 minutes, 6.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.  He’s also only shot 38.1% from the floor and that’s his main skill.  If he’s not shooting well he shouldn’t get much playing time.

Many of the Heat players are getting hot at the same time and it’s starting to show as they have been winning alot of games lately.  The leader of the pack is Dwyane Wade, as usual.  In his last 7 games, he’s averaging 30.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.0 blocks.  The only way to stop Dwyane Wade is to knock him out of the game.

“White Chocolate” Jason Williams has also been playing really well as of late.  In his last 8 games, Williams is shooting 50.6% from the floor and he’s averaging 13.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists.  As long as Williams keeps this up, the Heat offense will run smoothly.

Jason Kapano has been great since he’s moved into the starting lineup.  In his last 8 games (all starts) he’s averaging 13.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  Kapano has shot 55.6% from the floor in those games and a remarkable 58.1% on three pointers (18 of 31).

Antoine Walker is playing well and it’s about time.  In his last 7 games, Walker is averaging 23.9 minutes, 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  His shooting is also way up as he’s hitting 50% of his shots from the floor.  He’s also hit 17 of 36 from 3-point range (47.2%) which is fantastic.  Walker has said that the change back to the leather ball has really helped him and it looks like he may be telling the truth.

Michael Doleac has played super in his last 8 games.  He’s averaging 14.0 minutes, 5.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  He’s also shooting an amazing 68% from the floor.  He will keep earning playing time as long as he keeps this up.

The Miami Heat didn’t need Dwyane Wade to kick the crap out of the Knicks tonight.  The Heat raced out to a 40-12 lead and that pretty much ended this game already for the Knicks.  The Heat shot an amazing 53.1% from the floor as a team and outrebounded the Knicks 45-33.  This game was complete domination by the Heat!  Jason Kapano led the way for the Heat with 22 points and 5 rebounds.  Jason Williams had a great all-around game with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.  Udonis Haslem ruled the paint for the Heat with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Heat had trouble on the boards as the Mavericks outrebounded them 48-35 and that hurt them today.  Dwyane Wade had a great game with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.  Jason Williams pitched in with 17 points.  Udonis Haslem also had a tough game near the basket with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Heat looked tired after having a rough battle with the Pacers the night before.  They only shot 36.4% from the floor and that cancelled out the fact that the Heat outrebounded the Sixers 55-36.  Dwyane Wade had a great game as he scored 28 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 9 assists…..but he missed a free-throw at the end of regulation to send the game into OT.  Antoine Walker had his best game of the season last night with 19 points and 12 rebounds.  He also hit 5 of 10 three-point shots.
